The Sanctuary Businesses Network (SBN) is a coalition of local businesses that My Eden Voice has trained and organized. Members of the SBN know their rights, support, protect and uplift their customers and neighbors during periods of immigration enforcement.
My Eden Voice Launched the Sanctuary Business Network in order to protect and defend the Eden Area in the face of immigration enforcement. As part of the SBN, My Eden Voice Leaders prepare independent businesses in the Eden Area by facilitating know your rights trainings and working with the businesses to create emergency preparedness plans. Our partners leave the training knowing how to protect themselves, their employees and customers in the case of an ICE raid and become a part of the larger My Eden Voice network.
The Sanctuary Business Network developed from the harsh but powerful lessons we learned from Los Angeles. In 2025, the federal government began ICE raids like never before at frontline businesses such as: restaurants, car washes and warehouses. These raids not only hurt businesses that depend on immigrant workers and customers, but deeply traumatized families and spread fear through communities across the nation.
While we can’t control what happens, we can control how we prepare for the unthinkable. The SBN has created pockets of community safety and support in the Eden Area by building more welcoming business environments for the community. The SBN extends organizing and educational opportunities into everyday community spaces that nurture connection and shared values.
