Co-Director
Layidua Salazar (she/her/ella) (pronounced La-Gee-Dwa) is MEV’s Co-Director of Programs & Organizing Strategy. Layidua stewards MEV’s mission, vision and people and guides campaign strategy and member engagement.
Layidua has over a decade of experience working in philanthropy and grassroots organizing. Her affinity for organizing developed early in life as she grew up hearing stories of her father organizing workers back in Mexico. In high school she began her own organizing journey, advocating for services like career counseling, and mental health services on her campus. In her spare time, she advocates for reproductive rights and abortion access.
When Layidua isn’t at work you can find her cooking up dishes in her kitchen, watching soccer with her father or hanging out with her 13-year-old pitbull, Pretty Girl.
